FDJ : World Lottery Summit 2024
On October 21, 2024, The Art Office was honored to organize a Live Painting project for La Française des Jeux during the opening dinner of the World Lottery Summit. At this international event, we showcased the talented Meyso, who brought an artistic dimension to this moment.
Meyso's presentation
Meyso stupide at the Beaux-Arts of Marseille, where he obtained his degree in fine arts in 2013 and mis master’s degree in 2017.
His interest in painting dates back to his childhood while he sas exploring the City, urban spaces, rooftops, tunnels. It became his playground. This early fascination led him to immerse himself in the world of graffiti and street art. Which is why he started to paint in the streets in 2007.
His passion led him to travel in Eastern Europe and Latin America. It also gave him the opportunity to take part in events and festivals in France and abroad, mainly in Mexico, Colombia, Berlin and Hungary.
Thanks to these travels, he discovered new materials and cultures that inspire him in his work.
An internationally inspired Live-Painting
This live painting took place as part of the opening dinner of the World Lottery Summit. On this occasion, the Française des Jeux aimed to offer its 1000 international participants a live painting session through which they could catch a glimpse of France.
Ahead of the event, research was conducted to include France and Française des Jeux representative elements in the artwork.
These five symbols were designed to represent five fundamental aspects in the painting:
- Paris
- Peace
- International Unity
- The Lottery
- Nature
The goal was to give an insight of la Française des Jeux and its country through art.
Live Artwork
During this live painting, participants had the unique opportunity to witness a masterpiece come to life before their eyes. The objective was to represent the five values desired by FDJ while adding a colorful and contemporary touch, all thanks to our talented artist.
Value 1 - Paris
The painting captures the essence of the City of Love with ils iconic architectural symbols, rich in history and renowned worldwide. Each chosen element carries a deeper meaning further enriching the symbolism of the artwork.
Paris’ Rooftops
The rooftops of Paris evoke the quintessential view from above, adding a warm and human dimension to the artwork. This element bridges the grandeur of daily architecture with the magnificence of historic landmarks.
The Obelisk at Place de la Concorde
Another Iconic Parisian monument, the obelisk, with its clean lines and imposing verticality, symbolizes permanence, eternity and elevation.
The Eiffel Tower
The Eiffel Tower is the most recognizable symbol of Paris Worldwide. It takes a central place in the artwork, just as it does in the city and in the hearts of its citizens. In the painting, we see a blending of the national identity (notably through the tricolor emblematic of France) and of a modern type, perfectly embodying FDJ’s image.
The Art de Triomphe
Reimagined with vibrant colors, the Art de Triomphe symbolizes victory, success and the aspiration of greatness. This monument, a source of nationale pride, resonate naturally with the theme of lottery, where every participant strives for triumph. Its playful pink tones give a contemporary and accessible feel, transforming it into an invitation to dream big.
Value 2 - Peace
The integration of peace symbols, such as the iconic « Peace and Love » sign and the gesture of two fingers raised, brings depth and engagement to the artwork. These elements offer reflections on hope and unity in both a symbolic and playful context.
The « Peace and Love » symbol serves as a powerful and universally recognized motif. By associating it with iconic Parisian elements, the idea emerges that Paris, as a global capital of art and culture, is also a beacon of universal hope and peace.
The two-finger gesture further humanizes the artwork, emphasizing that peace is an action—a personal commitment everyone can embrace daily.
Value 3- International Unity
To represent international unity, several elements have been included, such as the planet, which also reflects the global nature of the World Lottery Congress.
Chains with interconnected links symbolize this unity. Each country represents a link, and the strength of the chain lies in its connection. If one link breaks, the harmony of the whole is disrupted.
Value 4 - Nature
Nature holds a central place among the values upheld by La Française des Jeux. This deep respect for the environment is beautifully reflected in the artist’s choice to incorporate trees and leaves into the artwork.
These elements serve as powerful symbols of growth, resilience, and harmony. The presence of lush foliage evokes a sense of serenity and prosperity, while also highlighting the importance of sustainability and the enduring bond between humanity and the natural world.
Value 5 - The Lottery
Naturally, the final symbol FDJ wanted to highlight in this live painting was the lottery.
The artwork features a scratch card, lottery numbers, a four-leaf clover, and the word « Lucky, » representing all those fortunate enough to win and those who hope to win one day.
